October Church Family Update

Trinity Bible Church Family!

This church update is a collection of notable changes and information relevant to our church body within the last couple of months.

Staff Updates

Julie Guidry is stepping down from her position as Children’s Ministry Assistant. Be sure to take the time to tell her thanks for all her hard work over the years. She served so well and so faithfully in that role.

Carla Potier has joined the staff to fill the position as the Children’s Ministry Assistant. She has been working directly with Julie as a volunteer, and now we’re excited to see all that her heart and hands will bring to this role on our staff.

During our annual business meeting we shared that we were in the middle of interviewing a strong candidate for the Worship Pastor position. That candidate did not continue with the next round of interviews. We still have a job listing open but are not actively interviewing candidates.

Charlena Comyne has been working so hard to prepare our worship team for weekly services. Her love for worshiping the Lord and our church is something we can all admire! She is now taking a well deserved break from those responsibilities but will remain apart of team. Please let her know how much the work she does is appreciated! Give her high fives and hugs when you see her.

Danny Seymour is now working with the worship team as a Music Director. We’re grateful for the energy and musical abilities he’s bringing to the worship team. Encourage and thank him when you see him!

Facilities

Our church owes a huge thanks to all of those who came out to help during our work day. Our facilities require routine maintenance and having that kind of help goes a long way. Deacons and church members got a lot done. We had thousands of dollars of equipment and services donated to the cause. Not only is there an immediate improvement on our campus, but we likely prevented costly future repairs.

Giving and Expenses

Our church giving is approximately ~$30k under the amount we budgeted for the quarter. Our fiscal year started in July. For now we haven’t made any adjustments but will continue to compare our giving income with expenses and our planned budget.

This summer's record heat put a big strain on our air conditioners. We spent an additional ~$30k outside of our budgeted expenses replacing AC units.

Each month we take 19% of our total giving income and designate it to our separate mission fund. So far we’ve allocated ~$40k in this first quarter. We support our mission partners with a combined monthly giving of ~$10k. In addition to monthly support, our mission team continues to fund individual projects. They have already funded an RMI church planters' conference, and there are plans to send a small team to Uzbekistan in the spring.

Ministry

This fall we launched small groups and bible studies. We have roughly 200 adults and 45 students meeting in small groups during the week. Small groups continue to be one of the best platforms for individual spiritual growth in our church.

Our church has so many great bible teachers! We’re currently hosting 10 different bible studies with roughly 100 men and women in attendance each week.

We had a cat

After the announcement on Sunday that we had a cat roaming our campus, the cat is no longer here. It’s rumored that someone took it in as a pet. Thank you!

Sarah Loftin has offered to provide free vaccinations for the cat! Call the church office if you need to be connected with her.

Thanks on behalf of the elders,
