Lesson 3 video

PJ speaking: Hello everyone!! Good Morning! Let’s go ahead start the class. Let us have some opening prayers. Father we want to thank you for today, beautiful day! Last night, we had lot of rains in some areas. Last week, Sunday there was no class but bless those women who enjoyed their Mother’s Day, spend times with their mothers and children. It’s beautiful bless that God provide  to y’all. Some people have their own situations but remember that God always have good plans come out of bad or good situations no matter, God still pouring the blessing. Today I ask You to bless today for our review lessons and fun part to play games. I ask that all these informations will benefit y’all for your spirit grows and motivates. Thank you in Jesus Name we pray, Amen!

Last week, on Mother’s Day, I hope y’all enjoyed on your Mother’s Day, spend times with your children and mothers. Two and three weeks ago, we have been reading Philippians. I know some of you weren’t here, but some of you have. We will review some sections from chapter 1-4. Last time we review, not able to finish til time ran out so we will finish it today then we will have fun to play games. Okay?! Exciting?! Ready!

We will do review again from last time, go through it quickly to the point where we last stop.

Review Phi 1:

4: “Whenever I pray, I make my requests for all of you with joy,”

9: “I pray that your love will overflow more and more, and that you will keep on growing in knowledge and understanding.”

11: “May you always be filled with the fruit of your salvation—the righteous character produced in your life by Jesus Christ—for this will bring much glory and praise to God.”

27: “Above all, you must live as citizens of heaven, conducting yourselves in a manner worthy of the Good News about Christ. Then, whether I come and see you again or only hear about you, I will know that you are standing together with one spirit and one purpose, fighting together for the faith, which is the Good News.”

28a: “Don’t be intimidated in any way by your enemies.”

Review Phi 2:

1: “Is there any encouragement from belonging to Christ? Any comfort from his love? Any fellowship together in the Spirit? Are your hearts tender and compassionate?”

This is where we last stop…

3-5: “Don’t be selfish; don’t try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves. Don’t look out only for your own interests, but take an interest in others, too. You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had.”

14-15: “Do everything without complaining and arguing, so that no one can criticize you. Live clean, innocent lives as children of God’.”

It’s very important that we show our Fruit as Christians, as love, provide, and union.  If you have some disagreement or anything , it’s best not to argue or get on each other’s necks. Stay calm, discuss the problems to solve like a family. Would you argue with your parents and tell them that they’re wrong?? Or siblings always argue to each other, parent would say them to stop, love each other, solve the problems. That’s show of how Jesus want us do show our love. Don’t complain or argue. Sometimes we feel frustrating in our lives, feel ugh can’t do anything, feel blah worthless, feel ugh little things, not enough or anything, but we have to remember stop, think, step back, God’s always satisfy us,  God always provide. Remember the story, Jesus feed 4,000 and 5,000 people with only 2 fishes and 7 breads. God broke plenty of bread and gave to people.  It’s no reason for us to complain or argue over things. God only satisfy us. Right?

Mirror interpreting: 2 fishes gave to 5,000 people, can you imagine? Wow!

PJ speaking: Yes! That’s God’s power! Give the satisfaction no matter what we have. Seems not enough, wow God’s power provides. God is our provider, yes! Thank you! Anyone? Okay next lesson…

Review Phi 3:

3: “For we who worship by the Spirit of God are the ones who are truly circumcised. We rely on what Christ Jesus has done for us. We put no confidence in human effort,”

In the history, the Jew laws from Old Testament times, Jews believe when a baby boy born, in eight days, boys must their penis circumcised, show that they belong to their culture. As today, after new covenant Jesus died on the cross, many of Jewish people believed that they must continue to doing the circumcise. Paul courage people that we don’t do the law of flesh no more. We are in law of spirit, that is in Christ. What does circumcised means, picture this, symbol as circumcised in our hearts. Same picture as water baptized, circumcised, repented, we accepted our new lives in Christ. We throw our old lives like throw old circumcise, baptize the dirty lives in the water and out of the water cleanse body, feel newly in Christ. That’s the picture as circumcised in hearts, in Spirit, my old life no more, thrown. New life in Christ, continue doing. As the verse says, no confidence in human effort, means self that we can doing saves?? No, we have none of doing to save ourselves. I can try to be good boy, I do nothing wrong, I’m saves. No, impossible. Only one Jesus Christ who can saves me, that’s it! He’s only one, we only do is trust Him. Have a faith in Him. Yes, we try our best not to practically sin. Show our fruits grow in faith only, that’s what Paul want to emphasize that. Always depends on Jesus.

Anyone have questions, caught up?  Annie?

Mirror interpreting: Annie speak:  Let you know new sign language, if you used to this sign language before, baptized. Not use same time with two hands, old ways we use one hand down and other hand go the opposite. As in new lives and old lives, old lives left in the water and new lives out.

PJ speaking: Thank you for sharing. Since people talked about baptize, some people have different ideas of sign language of baptize. Also people mentioned about baptize in Holy Spirit, how can we baptize in Holy Spirit, we baptize as clothe Christ. As a sign language signs show different meanings of baptism in the water and in Spirit. Am I explaining it clear?? Thank you for sharing, Annie!  More expanding of that, thank you. Appreciate it.  Any more questions??

8: “Yes, everything else is worthless when compared with the infinite value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have discarded everything else, counting it all as garbage, so that I could gain Christ”

Before verse 8: Paul wrote and talking about his experience as “I am a Jew”, “ I am tribe of Benjamin, “I’ve been Pharisee many years”, but until he saw Jesus Christ, my life has changed, everything on the list and thought it’s important. Follow every Jew laws were important to do til see Jesus Christ, all the important list of laws and everything has been thrown in garbage. What does that apply to us as today? Emphasize, why? Many people today who depends on what they see. For example, politics, trust that politics, religions, cultures, (province)? of the world, heritage of family - trust and dependency of these as we precious. We learn the truth about Jesus Christ is the very primary. Everything on the list, not important, only Jesus is primary. Why is Jesus primary, because He’s only who saves you. Everything on the list worthless, why is they worthless?? Because look at many different religions, which one should we trust? Different cultures, how can we deal with different cultures? How? Why because we see many divisions, different churches divide; many people divide and use their own refers. But God destroyed that wall like in Old Testament, one letter of the prophet wrote and said “Egypt, Syria, Jews have their walls between them, now with God, He destroyed these walls down. Everything have called like “highways” connected so they can worship all the same One God. That’s Jesus Christ. It explains the verse said. That’s why Paul said, Wow Jesus Christ is the only one who’s very important to praise, worship, trust to Him. Everything is destroyed. Also that’s what Paul emphasized that many Jews who teaching gospels and few things, they also included old laws. Paul said, No Jesus Christ is the only - that’s it. Nothing is add or remove to. That’s the real teaching of Jesus Christ, trust Him.  Cultures, politics, and others -  means they are bad thing? No, they are only simple earth identities. Nothing is equal to Jesus Christ, none! No one is equal to Jesus Christ. Like look at me, I’m deaf, I’m from deaf cultures, usher syndrome, I’m white, I’m a man, that is my outside identity, because here on Earth, simple. Jesus Christ in that is my identity. I’m a Christian because I follow Christ. When I die, I go to Heaven, join with Him always, but when I die, will I join with the world? Will I bring something from the world to Heaven? No, I’ll release the world, why, the world on earth will fade away soon, but in Heaven is forever. That’s why Paul said, wow Jesus is very important as number one!   Any questions??

Mirror interpreting: Annie speaking: Remember the message that Jesus go to a group eating with Pharisee, notice that Jesus modified simple to wash hands. Pharisee said no don’t, must wash up hand and up to elbows. More deep, rules, really not needed. Simple just the hands. Pharisees added up to make more rules, spread and cause more confusion. That’s why specific said that rules need cultures, which is not needed. It can include becoming more selfish, jealousy, hard core of self centered. When we turn to God, include love, gentle, joy, respect for other people replace of self centered. That’s why we turn to God from the world.

PJ speaking: Right! Amen! Thank you for sharing! Yes! That’s why Jesus spoke to Pharisee, to wash our hands to avoid the dirty of what you have been touch things. Jesus said it don’t matter because you eat in your mouth and it goes to waste. To eat a food doesn’t filthy to you, but what you speak from your heart with evil impression, that is filthy! That’s why when Pharisee making too many rules and rules, that is filthy from their hearts, being selfish, self centered, speaking rudely. Right! Exactly! Thank you for sharing! Anyone else?

Mirror interpreting:  Dan speaking: I understand maybe about 4-5 thousand years ago, Paul continue with 12 disciples who teaching gospels. Politic, religion, government, etc still change over years and years that cause separate.  Say about 10 percent of us are loyal to be a Christian and about 90 percent of us are not Christian. Wondering if there is any ideas of how to improve of us to be better Christian?

PJ speaking: All we have to do is to trust God. That’s why we have a church and keep continuing spread the gospels for, like what Paul start traveling and set up several churches all along about 2 thousand years. Before in Old Testament, they have prophets that God still use them to tell the gospels of God til Jesus show up. After that, 12 disciples except for Judas, Paul later joined as an apostle and set up churches in different countries. That’s why Jesus said, Go and preach Gospels to the world. Now why many numbers of people decreased, self centered, selfish, human wants, flesh, that’s their struggles. Flesh and Spirit are always in the war daily. Many people have hard time to accept the truths. That’s why many people are emphasizing on what they see the world, they want evidence same with Pharisee, they want evidences. Like what the story talks about Thomas, remember that story?? He always doubts that Jesus rises from death, want to see Jesus’ hands that has holes in them and scar from the rib, then will believe you. Funny is that Thomas is one of disciple of Jesus who has a doubt. Jesus show up in the room and said hello to disciples, come and see the scars to Thomas, he saw and bowed, apologized to the Lord, believed. Jesus said people who believe without seeing, wow bless them! People who doesn’t believe til see will be trap, meaning they don’t trust and don’t believe Him, have a relationship; keep looking for something, God’s here or is He real? Want a proof as witness, looking for evidence, His words and His truths were being ignored. Still looking for something, will never find. That’s why we will have to put a trust in God because He is the only one who can touch people’s hearts, make them realize. That’s what gospel is for to spread like the seeds, if people want some water and sun, all they have to do is trust Him. That’s how… is that answer your question? (Asking to Dan)

Mirror interpreting: Thump up!

PJ speaking: 9: Anyone else have questions? Keep continue? Good one Dan.

Paul emphasize and wrote… “and become one with him. I no longer count on my own righteousness through obeying the law; rather, I become righteous through faith in Christ. For God’s way of making us right with himself depends on faith.”

That is what I just expanded earlier!

15: “Let all who are spiritually mature agree on these things. If you disagree on some point, I believe God will make it plain to you.”

That’s the answer to your question, Dan. If anyone disagree on these things, God will make it simple, meaning that God will touch people’s hearts and open their eyes. Some people go through different experience, we all will learn different ways. Will we learn all the same one experience and feel touch in heart through by simple to read the Bible that’s it?  No. Sometime we realize, learn and understand about Christ in different ways. Sometime through church preach, through experience from someone’s message about Jesus and ignored then going through serious situations happen, got face something terrible, realize that Jesus is real and pierce in the heart which that can happen. Or different ways you can experience, God is working in millions and millions hidden ways. No one is not 100 percent same, we will open our heart and mind to understand in different ways.

Like this perfect example: Twelve disciples that Jesus chose and taught gospels to them for three years, follow Him and different experiences. Peter denied, then later realized. Thomas doubted that Jesus died and risen, He showed up in presence, different experience.   Judas betrayed and apologized, then thrown himself to hang and his results, don’t know. Philip wanted Jesus to show him His Father, Jesus said you see me stand here, Father and I are the same. People who go through different experiences, different understanding. God make us understand different times.

I noticed and  remember growing up, I have seen some elders who believe in Jesus late. Does that mean the elders are bad people and why didn’t they learn early in young ages? No, it’s nothing wrong with it, many people who face in life experiences in different ways. I’m young, learned about Jesus is when I was eight years old. Someone who I remember was about 70 years old, said “was struggling and don’t understand Bible. I do not know Jesus until I was in 70 years old, finally got the pierce in my heart and understand now!” What?! 70?! Imagine that? God is in His time, His plans. He have a purpose for you! That’s why we can’t “choke and rush someone”, already taught you some His words, still don’t understand, why not? What’s wrong with me? Did I teach you wrong, I read Bible careful and teach you in right way, but can’t you understand, why? It doesn’t make any sense. So it means maybe that person’s heart and mind is blocked. God have His plans for that person. We have to step back, be patient, let God do the works, not me. I only plant the seeds, that’s it. Same as the picture as a flower, does all the flowers grow the same? Who any of you love flowers? Raise your hands. Cindi loves flowers. Cari loves flowers. Now questions. Does your many different flowers grow the same at the same time? Person said no. They are different. PJ said different right. Same concept, when we plant flowers seeds in their beds, and wait for them to grow. One flower already grew one fast, then other haven’t yet, another flower finally grew, another and another flowers grew. Last one haven’t grow yet, hurry up! Maybe it’s no good, oh well. Later then that last flower finally grew. Same idea with us, God design us different, but union work together. Clear? Another questions?

Mirror interpreting: someone speaking: Always want to tell that it’s our job to give water and nutrients to flower, God will do throughly.

PJ speaking: Right! That’s God’s job. Yes, that’s right! The seeds are like Christ put in your heart, water like God’s words, sun nutrients are like God’s grace. God’s grace, God’s words, our hearts trust Jesus Christ, that’s three things, very important keys, which like Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Three in one, work union together. Amen! Any more questions before I move up to next lesson? Okay! Let’s continue…

Review Phi 4:

4: “Always be full of joy in the Lord. I say it again—rejoice!” Hallelujah!!

That’s what Paul want you to remember hallelujah! Sometime when people wake up and get up in the morning, feel like ugh, not feel like do anything. No, we need to wake  up in the morning and thanking the Lord for waking me up and still alive! Hallelujah! I know sometime it’s hard to feel the motive to get up and have coffee first. Coffee first, well can’t blame people who want coffee first, but we need to Jesus first. Coffee second, why coffee number 2? Hebrewit. Understand the joke? Hebrew, He-brew-it, He makes coffee. Hahaha!

Mirror interpreting: Dan speaking: Hebrew means don’t allow women make coffee??

PJ speaking: Hahaha! You’re funny!

6: “Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.”

Sometime when we feel need, obviously we pray, right. Sometime we pray for list of needs, but haven’t received what we ask for, looking forward to it, make us waiting. No, we still giving thank Him for everything He has done. Always be thankful. Instead of, remember earlier what I messaged, don’t complain, remember? Don’t complain, be thankful. While we wait for answer, we still continue give thanks. We are on tight with food, need help with food, but still give thanks for what’s left we have now. I have still have some water left, I have about 2-3 bread left. I have one slice of meat left, but I still to be thankful. Maybe 2 to 3 days later, God provides food.

I remember from my experience, I’ll share with you little testimony. About five years old, we just moved in new mobile home, excited. We didn’t have much food to start with, my parent help us some food to start with. We put food in pantry, still low on food, very low. We moved in the end of July, started on August and September, from there to December, we’re very low and tight on food. My wife have been frustrating and complaining, we earn some money and spend little by little on food. I said, I know. It’s okay, we have to trust God. Important we keep be thankful. My wife said Yes I know. I know we’re low and it’s hard. My wife was worried and concerned because she is a mother, worried about the children. It’s normal because children need to be fed. Important we eat little bit, and let children eat more til they are satisfied, keep on thankful. I taught my kids how to pray and bless the food at the table. Funny part is sometimes my kids argue who takes turn to pray. One of my kids said, “It’s my turn, you’re already your turns yesterday!” I said hey it’s okay, let’s have everyone have a turn. Pray over dinner, don’t argue over the prayer, but I think it was real awesome that it impress God is on the kids. Now til December, one of organizers who wanna help provide to those people who are in need. I have no idea someone who nominated for us. They sent one of big old train bus came to our house, provided all the pile of food, things we would need, many stuff. I was in shock. I did share this testimony before in my blog five years old. I did showed things in blog, wow I was speechless, and I was thanking God. My wife and I saw these things, it’s important to trust Him, pray, and be thankful, those were our results, not expecting. We’re not here to keep hoping and expect to be happen. Maybe it may not work out. It’s best to step back, trust Him, it’s in His time, not mine and that happened. I’m sure some of you already have that some experience, I have no doubt in that. That’s what Paul want us to experience like that. Anyone want to suggest any comments?

Mirror interpreting: Annie speaking: I would like to share too. I had a sick baby for long time, now gone. When he was about eight weeks old, the doctor said that he won’t live long. His kind of sickness is short life up to one year old. Of course, I was very upset to find that news, decided to keep going to church to pray for his comfort. For first time, I was afraid and want to him to die, been disaster, I surrender and pray to Lord to take care of my baby. I didn’t know what to do, after that been taking care of him til he was eleven years old. The doctor said it was awesome and miracle. So yes it’s important to give love, care and let God take care in His time til my baby ends time. I was satisfied to know his character was sweet and do everyday. It was good memory and I thanked God to learn my boy looked like. Important never complain, worry, put on stress - it’s not good. Let God take care of everything.

PJ speaking: Awesome! Thank you for sharing that beautiful testimony. Wow! God’s awesome! Right?! Everyone, right?! Amen! God’s awesome! Hallelujah! Lord is good all the time! Anyone else want to comment before I move on to the next lesson?

8b: “Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.”

Just like what we have been comments, sometime some people always have negative thoughts or worry about things, situation, life, problems, etc. Sometime we have to overwhelm ourselves of many thinking, overspin of thoughts in the head. Whoa whoa, set these aside. Paul emphasize focus on what’s good. What to honor. What to care, whatever else of what so we can continue in positive ways. Yes it’s hard, really, it’s very hard to do that because most all of us are struggle, why because we’re all a sinners since birth and growing up. We have flesh struggles. When we see some problems, we end up frustrating, after that situation have been taken care of, whew we feel relieved. Wow realized that situation have been exhausted. Sometime when we have take care of any of situation and we need to thanking the Lord for giving us strength to take care of that situation. Sometime it’s hard to do that, we need to practice to do our best. Paul want us continue to focus on Him. He provides, remember what Jesus said when you have burdens, tiredness, worry, anxiety, etc - give to Him. He will provide us some comfort. He will provide us rest. That relate to what the verses said. Fix on Jesus, He will take care of us. We can little things, whatever is overwhelm us, He will take care of the rest. Because Paul did wrote in other verse and said that God will not put us in something will overwhelm us. No, God will take care of us, prepare us, when we feel overwhelm - what can we do - depend on Him. We ask Him, Lord please help us, He will take care biggest things that we can’t do. Anyone? Anyone want to share?

Mirror interpreting: Cari speaking: We do sometime that God will give us thing that overwhelm us. Why? To teach us, we can’t do ourselves. We must depend on Him so yes God don’t want us to be overwhelm, but sometime to get our attention.

PJ speaking: Right! Fix… That’s why fix if we overwhelm our thoughts, we need to fix our focus, right?! We need to fix our head, realized that we are overwhelm and depend on Him. Fix, fix means focus, but also we need to fix our attention. Fix, right! Small joke. Okay, anyone else?

9: “Keep putting into practice all you learned and received from me—everything you heard from me and saw me doing. Then the God of peace will be with you.”

That kind of fix that what Cari just spoke about, fix on Him and practice what we doing and learning what’s good show. Same as parent have to show and practice, our children look up to our good example and learning. Proportion to Jesus show good examples and we learn from Him. Paul did said copy me like I copy Jesus Christ. Remember I commented this before? Copy me for I copy Christ. We keep continue copying from good example. That’s why we depend on His truth words. Anyone?

Last verses; 12-13: “I know how to live on almost nothing or with everything. I have learned the secret of living in every situation, whether it is with a full stomach or empty, with plenty or little. For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.”

That pretty much everything what I just expand from all along, now that make senses. Through Christ who give us strength. Okay anyone before start play game, anyone have any questions?

I think this review, want to give all the points, emphasizing and feel motiving, feel inspiring before I start gospel lessons of Matthew next week. Hallelujah! We will travel and examine Matthew, after that, will do Mark, Luke and John. It will be fun. It was fun travel for me when I read and got excited, heartache, felt panic, depend on how you feel while reading a book, right?!  Okay let’s play some game! We have about 10 mins to end the class so let’s play speed game! Ready!

Mirror interpreting: Annie speaking: The Bible never say anything about Friday, Saturday, and Sunday; but did say first day of the week which is Sunday, obviously. Seventh day on Saturday, obviously that explains of the first day of week means on Sunday. Jesus rises on first day of the week.
